The Farmington Valley VNA would like to publicly acknowledge and thank every individual, family, community, civic and student group, business, and association for their recent outpouring of generosity toward the Granby Food Bank Program and call attention to several of those groups.
The Granby Ambulance Association, the Gables Homeowners Association, and the Farmington Chapter of UNICO were kind enough to take up collections of food and funds at their annual holiday parties. A $500 donation from Granby Memorial High School’s Student Government, and $2,911.20 generated from Super Stop and Shop’s “Food for Friends” program helped to replenish stock of most-needed items or those that are donated less frequently. Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital and Horses and Hounds teamed up to sponsor a pet food drive and filled the stockroom with bags and cans of cat and dog food. Recent visitors include Den 325, Pack 6 Tiger Scouts, who toured the Food Bank to learn exactly how their food donations were distributed.
Every donation to the Granby Food Bank Program is so vital to the ongoing success of this very important community resource. On behalf of those who participate in the program, thank you for your steadfast commitment to helping your neighbors in need.
