Cossitt Tag Sale

The Friends will begin collecting items for a Sept. 12 tag sale held at the gazebo in North Granby (rain date, Sept. 19). Items of good quality and condition may be left at the library or at the Sullivan home, 21 Kelly Lane, 860-653-3887. DVDs, CDs, books-on-CD and puzzles will continue to be collected, but no clothing, TVs or computers.

Children’s Tag Sale

Children may hold their own tag sales during Cossitt’s sale with their own table/blanket and handling their own money. This has been an enjoyable event at Granby Public Library, now moved to the gazebo. Questions, call 860-653-3887.

Summer Reading Clubs

There’s a jungle of critters and books awaiting adventurous readers in the Lions and Tigers and Books—Oh My! Club. No meetings, just good reading, drawing for prizes and a Make-Your-Own-Sundae Party. Pre-readers and parents/caregivers will share special time together in the Curious George Read-To-Me Club ending with the popular lawn picnic. Registration for both clubs began June 20.

Tie Dye Party

This is the most popular fun program at Cossitt for all ages. Linda Jean Ervin will welcome you on Saturday, July 11 for some messy fun (rain date July 18). Wear old clothes, bring 100 percent cotton items and enjoy!

Seashell Craft

At a date to be announced in late July or early August, librarian Deb Woodsome will offer a seashell box craft for children 6 and up. Watch for signs/posters, then call 860-653-8958 to register.

LEGO Mania

Creativity reigns while young patrons enjoy tubs of LEGOs Aug. 15 – 29. Little builders and friends are welcome.

Summer Refreshments

Enjoy ice tea/lemonade and occasionally a special treat while finding that perfect summer read, DVD, CD and magazine, courtesy of the Friends. Summer gets a little better after a stop at Cossitt Library.
