Misconceptions abound! No, you don’t have to be a senior to take part in any of the Senior Center programs. You do have to become a member, however, but that’s easy. You can go to the center in the Municipal Complex on North Granby Road or send in a check to Granby Senior Center, 15 North Granby Road, 06035. The annual fee is $5 for residents and $10 for your friends who may be non-residents. The membership year goes from September to September. If you wait until May 2017 to join, for example, your membership will be good only until September 2017 — so this is the perfect time to join!
Don’t know which activities or programs might interest you? Check out the Senior Center page of this Granby Drummer. Also, if you join, you will receive Center Life, the Senior Center newsletter, every two months. It includes all the regular programming plus the special events of the season. Copies are available in the Senior Center. `
Although any adult can become a member, for certain activities where space is limited, priority will be given to the 60-and-over crowd.
