Herstory Theater, in partnership with Good Company Theater of Granby, presents the holiday classic It’s A Wonderful Life with a twist! It’s a Wonderful Life; a Live Radio Show by Joe Landry, is performed in the style of old-time radio theater, including a sound effects artist.

This cozy, heartwarming production will take place on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at South Congregational Church Hall in Granby.
George Bailey, Zuzu, Clarence the Angel and grumpy old Mr. Potter are turning our hall into Bedford Falls this December. After wishing he had never been born, George comes to realize that his life has made a great impact on the world and in the lives of the people around him. The themes that run through this story are as applicable today as they were over seventy years ago.
When the film It’s A Wonderful Life was released in 1946, it was not immediately popular nor a financial success, but its reputation grew over time. A clerical error resulted in the loss of copyright protection allowing the film to be shown widely during the Christmas season in subsequent years. The film has become a phenomenon and the holiday is not complete without it.
This is a unique opportunity to enjoy this wonderful story in a fun, live radio-show performance, complete with a foley (sound effects) artist!
The Connecticut cast and crew includes Bill Arnold of East Windsor, Chris Berrien of East Granby, Chris Bushey of Bloomfield, Marisa Clement of West Hartford, Steve O’Brien of Simsbury, Jomarie Pipolo of West Hartford, and Virginia Wolf of Farmington.
The performance is 90 minutes with no intermission, and is produced by special arrangement by Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com). Seasonal refreshments will be available for purchase before the performance.
Bring the whole family on Saturday, Dec. 16, to enjoy this classic story. Shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets available at Granby Pharmacy, at the door and online at goodcompanytheaterct.org. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and children under 17. Tickets sold at the door will be $12 for adults and $10 for students and children.
