This November the Granby Memorial High School Drama Club presents Inherit the Wind. This powerful courtroom drama is based upon the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, involving a teacher from Tennessee who defied state law and taught the theory of evolution in his classroom, instead of the state-mandated theory of Creationism. This drama thrives on the intense disputes between lawyers based on William Jennings Bryan, a strict interpreter of the Bible, and Clarence Darrow, a defender of science and the right to think.
Seniors Ryan Stupenski, Ethan Sweetland, Thomas Edwards, Owen Kibby, Sean O’Neil and Alyssa Grimaldi take the lead roles.
Show dates are Friday, Nov. 13, Saturday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for students. Mark your calendars now for this wonderful show!
