Hanna Adams, 2011 graduate of Granby Memorial High School successfully completed the 26.2 mile Marine Corps Marathon with her father, John Adams, on Sunday Oct. 25 in Washington, D.C. Hanna worked hard to overcome right-sided hemiplegia and train to reach her goal of becoming a marathon runner. With her dad’s support, Hanna joined a Boston Fit running group this past spring and never missed a training session. Hanna is employed fulltime as a teacher at the Arlington Infant Toddler Center and resides in Somerville, Mass. She combined hard work and perseverance to reach her dream.

Hanna Adams says she never could have run the Marine Corps Marathon without the help of her father, John.

Hanna said, “My dad and I did it!! We crossed the finish line of the Marine Corps Marathon. I couldn’t have done it without my dad’s help to find the Boston Fit group for me. Today I finished my first marathon ‪#‎born to run ‪#‎official marathon runner.”
Hanna sends a special thank you to Coach Hansen and Coach Lobo for years of great coaching and learning to set new personal goals each week.
